Southern Cross St Michaels offers an enhanced lifestyle for older persons in a relaxed community environment.
We are located less within one kilometre of the shopping centre. The Casino community offers country hospitality and support to our residents and clients.
Independent Living
The Village includes 5 one-bedroom self-contained units.
All units are well maintained and a 24-hour emergency call system is in place.
Residents occupy the independent living units under a formal agreement which ensures security of tenure. Residents are required to pay an affordable fortnightly fee which covers all expenses other than electricity, telephone and personal keep. Our entry contribution arrangements are very reasonable and flexible - we endeavour to negotiate an arrangement to suit each individual.
Supported Living Apartments
The residential care service offers a mix of low and high care apartments.
- All low-care apartments have private ensuites
- Each apartment is provided with fans, heaters & television points.
- All community areas are fully air-conditioned
- Staff are on duty at all times to provide care and assistance to residents
- Medical services are available from visiting Doctors
- Access to a range of medical & paramedical services eg, physiotherapy, podiatry & allied health
- Range of in-house activities supported by a Lifestyle Coordinator including exercise programs, fashion parades, barbecues, bus trips & outings, bowls, bingo & Happy Hour.
- Christian worship services are held in the Prayer Room on a weekly basis.
Our ongoing fees are set by the Commonwealth Government at 85% of the Age Pension. Where a resident has non-pension income in excess of the Government threshold the resident is also required to contribute 25% of that additional income.
There aren''t any pre-determined, fixed entry contributions (accommodation bonds). Every prospective resident is considered individually and arrangements determined that reflect his/her own personal circumstances. Those without means are not required to make a contribution. It must be emphasised however that where a resident does pay us a contribution the maximum amount retained by us is limited by Government regulation.
National Respite for Carers Program
Southern Cross Care Community Respite Service offers carers a break from, or assistance with, care. This service is offered in whatever form is most appropriate to the needs of the carer and the person they care for.
Community Aged Care Packages
Community Care is designed to help clients who have been assessed as needing support to remain in their own homes and continue to be part of the broader community.
