Southern Cross Care manages Currawarna Apartments on behalf of the Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn. The accommodation offers an enhanced lifestyle for older persons in a relaxed community environment.

The facility is set within generous grounds, with outlooks to the surrounding paddocks and the town set in the valley below.

The existing apartments offer a high level of comfort and amenity to all residents.

• All rooms have views to the gardens
• There are 40 apartments available, 20 of which are newly constructed.
• Each apartment is provided with, heaters, telephone & television points
• Staff are on duty at all times to provide care and assistance to residents
• Medical services are available from visiting Doctors
• Access to a range of medical & paramedical services eg visiting Doctors, physiotherapy & podiatry
• The range of in-house activities includes exercise programs, fashion parades, hairdresser, barbecues, bus trips & outings, bowls- all are supported by a Lifestyle Coordinator
• Christian worship services are held in the Chapel on a weekly basis

The facility has recently been extended with the addition of 20 new residential care apartments.

Our ongoing fees are set by the Commonwealth Government at 85% of the Age Pension.

Where a resident has non-pension income in excess of the Government threshold the resident is also required to contribute 25% of that additional income.

There aren''t any pre-determined, fixed entry contributions (accommodation bonds). Every prospective resident is considered individually and arrangements determined that reflect his/her own personal circumstances. Those without means are not required to make a contribution. It must be emphasised however that where a resident does pay us a contribution the maximum amount retained by us is limited by Government regulation.
