HOLY SPIRIT PAINTING - WORK OF ART
 |
| Holy Spirit mural and the artist Peter Connolly |
Reynolds Court Aged Care Facility at Bateau Bay NSW has recently unveiled a significant hand-painted mural which is now on permanent display above the altar of its Holy Spirit Chapel. The mural depicts the Holy Spirit and other religious symbols.
The mural was designed and painted by Mr. Peter Connolly, a resident of Reynolds Court Village.
Now retired, Peter spent 47 years in the State and Catholic school systems in a career predominantly devoted to teaching art.
Peter is still very active in volunteering his time in teaching art to the elderly. He also plays the organ at Church services and community sing-a-longs for the hostel residents.
"I'm busier now than when I was working full time, but it's fantastic to be able to keep active at my age" he said.
The residents of Reynolds Court and visitors to the Chapel are all very grateful for Peter's devotion and the generous contribution of his time in doing the painting.
